Yes. Scout vehicles are equipped with bike racks so you can bring your bicycle along for the ride. Riders should specify when requesting a ride if they require a bike rack.

Yes. Riders are responsible for bringing and securing their own child safety seats as required by Florida law. Infants and toddlers must ride in an approved car seat. Children ages 4 and 5 must use a booster seat. Drivers may decline service if these requirements are not met.

Yes. Scout offers:

  • 50% off for seniors (65+), students, individuals with disabilities, and income-eligible residents
  • $1 rides for Access Plus cardholders
  • $2 rides for trips that start or end at a SunRail station

Yes. Riders must wear seatbelts, follow Florida safety laws for child seats, and behave respectfully toward drivers and other passengers. Inappropriate behavior, threatening language, smoking, or refusing to wear proper attire may result in refusal of service or suspension from the system.

Yes. Riders may bring items that can be safely carried and stored in the vehicle. Large or bulky items may not be permitted if they block aisles or seating. Riders can also purchase an extra seat if needed to accommodate bulky items.

Only service animals are allowed on Scout vehicles. Pets that are not service animals are not permitted.

No. Scout is an on-demand service. All rides must be requested when you are ready to travel.

No. Scout drivers are salaried employees of Freebee. Tipping is not expected or accepted.

Yes. Scout vehicles have space for strollers, wheelchairs, and mobility devices. Drivers are trained to assist riders as needed.

Payment is made in the Ride Freebee app using a credit card, debit card, or mobile wallet. Riders without cards can purchase prepaid digital Scout passes at participating retail centers (libraries and County parks) and load them into their app account.

Scout’s goal is to keep wait times under 30 minutes. Actual wait times may vary based on demand and traffic.

Fares start at $4 for trips within one zone. Trips that cross zones cost $7, $10, or $14 depending on the number of zones traveled. Riders booking in the app receive a 50 cent discount on every ride.

Yes. Scout’s fleet includes wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Riders can request one directly in the Ride Freebee app. Service animals are welcome.

LYNX routes will continue in Seminole County until January 2026. After that, the County anticipates reducing or phasing out underperforming fixed routes. Scout is designed to provide a more flexible and cost-effective option for the community while ensuring transit service continues countywide.

The ACCESS LYNX paratransit service is not changing. However, riders may find Scout to be a more convenient option depending on their needs and destination.

Yes. Visit the Scout U section on the How It Works page for short videos that show you how to download the app, book rides, and use Scout’s features.

Scout is Seminole County’s on-demand, rideshare service. Instead of fixed bus routes or schedules, riders request a trip through the Ride Freebee app and a Scout vehicle comes directly to their location.

Riders must be 15 years or older to ride without an adult. Anyone under 15 must be accompanied by someone 18 or older.

Scout operates a fleet of Volkswagen ID. Buzz electric vehicles and Toyota Sienna Hybrid wheelchair-accessible vans. All vehicles are ADA compliant, equipped with seatbelts, and feature free Wi-Fi.

Scout operates seven days a week:

  • Monday to Friday: 5 AM to 9 PM
  • Saturday: 6 AM to 10 PM
  • Sunday: 6 AM to 8 PM

Scout operates in five neighborhood-based zones: Monroe, Lake Mary, Howell, Brantley, and Econ. The service covers nearly all of Seminole County except the rural boundary area.

Scout vehicles are operated by employees of Freebee. All drivers undergo annual background checks, including compliance with the Jessica Lunsford Act, and receive professional training before serving riders.
