County Commission Approves Affordable Fares
Rides start at just $4 within a zone, with steep discounts for those who need them most.
The Seminole County Board of County Commissioners has approved the fare structure for Scout, the County’s new on-demand, rideshare service launching this fall. The plan keeps public transportation affordable and accessible while supporting long-term sustainability.
Base fares will be $4 for trips within the same zone. Trips that cross additional zones will cost $7 for one zone, $10 for two zones, and $14 for three zones. A $1 surcharge may apply during peak travel hours (6 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.) or when riders bring extra passengers or large items.
The plan delivers some of the deepest discounts ever offered in County transit. Seniors (65+), students, individuals with disabilities, and income-eligible riders will pay just half price. Access Plus cardholders will ride for $1. All riders will pay only $2 for trips that begin or end at a SunRail station.
The fare structure was adopted by Commissioners on August 26, 2025, marking a key milestone as Scout prepares for its September soft launch and October 2025 full launch.
