Zones Provide Neighborhood-Based Convenience
Five service zones bring public transportation closer to home, with no fixed routes and no stress.
When Scout, Seminole County's new on-demand, rideshare service, launches this fall, it will operate in five neighborhood-based zones designed around the way our community moves.
To avoid confusion with Seminole County's seven cities, staff named each zone after a major waterbody — clear, familiar landmarks that residents recognize. The five zones are:
- Monroe Zone – includes Sanford
- Lake Mary Zone – includes Lake Mary and Longwood
- Howell Zone – includes Winter Springs, Casselberry, and Longwood
- Brantley Zone – includes Altamonte Springs, Longwood, and Casselberry
- Econ Zone – includes Oviedo
The zones were created to keep neighborhoods and community destinations together while ensuring access to schools, hospitals, parks, government services, and shopping. Four of the five zones also include a SunRail station, giving riders a simple connection to regional transit
Scout begins its soft launch in September and will expand to full service in October 2025.
