New App Updates Improve Reliability for Riders

Scout continues to see strong demand across Seminole County, and that demand reflects how valuable the service has become for residents.
In January, Scout reached record ridership levels, with more than 900 passenger trips in a single day, along with a similar number of canceled ride requests. While cancellations are sometimes unavoidable, repeated cancellations can impact wait times, vehicle availability, and overall service reliability for other riders.
To help keep Scout running smoothly, there have been updates to the app.
Limiting Excessive Cancellations
Riders are now limited to two canceled Scout requests per day within the app. After canceling two rides, any additional Scout requests must be made by phone at 407-665-RIDE (7433).
This change helps ensure vehicles remain available for riders who are ready to travel and reduces delays caused by repeated cancellations.
Reasonable Wait Times at Pickup
Scout is reinforcing reasonable wait times at pickup locations to keep service running smoothly for all riders. The Scout app provides real-time updates as your vehicle approaches, and drivers may message riders through the app to confirm their location. Riders are encouraged to monitor the app closely and be ready at the pickup location when their Scout arrives. Vehicles will wait a limited, reasonable time at pickup locations before continuing to the next scheduled stop.
Scout’s Commitment to Reliable Service
These updates are focused on fairness, efficiency, and reliability. As ridership continues to grow, small operational improvements help ensure Scout remains dependable for everyone who relies on the service.
